The dump

One of our missions is to go see people at their home- home visits is what we they call it. This day was hard. We went to visit those at the garbage dump.

Here in Mexico, there is no garbage pickup. People have to bring their garbage to the dump themselves. There is people that go to the dump and sort through it for things they may want. But then there are others that have built lean-to shacks to live in. The poverty and homeless here is nothing like I have seen and it breaks my heart. The people we met and prayed over were in despair. At a low. I am crying as I type because they do not know how it happened. One day they are living their life and the. The next they are homeless, just trying to survive.

It is almost comedy of the things that we (and me) complain about in our lives. Some call it first world problems. We all need to be on our knees thanking God for everything that he has given us. I have so many blessings and yet I still complain.

His never said that we wouldn’t have trouble but he did say that when trouble comes, he will be with us. Never leave us. I take comfort in that. But there are some that do not have a relationship with Jesus and do not have that comfort. That is what we as believers are commanded to do- Go and tell others and show them the love of Jesus.

Sorry to be a downer today, but life is not always fun times, there is hard times too. Sometimes our hard times seem to last a long time.

We will get through it!

Deuteronomy 31:8

The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.
