We had our first VBS at the jungle school and it was interesting. I learned some new Spanish words, but it was difficult to communicate with the kids. They seemed to take it with well and help me out. I got to experience a Honduran soccer game. It was exciting! When I went in, I noticed that a lot of people had umbrellas. Well I quickly found out why. If you are sitting on the bottom rows, you get coke, food and anything else thrown on you. When the team scored, the fans threw their food and drink in the air!
Our last day at the Jungle school, I got called by one of the teachers to check out one of the students. They somehow found out I was a nurse and wanted me to check her out. She had a belly ache and had vomited. Found out she hasn’t eaten since lunch the day before. When she vomited, she had worms. So, the director of the school was able to get medication for all the students the next day to treat them for worms. The director was able to get a nurse to come and be on staff for the school the following week.
Looking back at this experience this day, I think it was the start of what plans God has for me in the future.
Bendiciones
